METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Description of Dataset
This dataset contains a compiled summary of historical operational monitoring data collected from the Glaslough Integrated Constructed Wetland (ICW) between 2014 and 2025.

The dataset integrates multiple historical monitoring records associated with wastewater treatment performance, nutrient concentrations, organic matter removal, and suspended solids attenuation within the full-scale integrated constructed wetland system.

The original monitoring programme was undertaken by Uisce Éireann as part of routine operational and regulatory wastewater compliance monitoring. The dataset was subsequently compiled, cleaned, processed, and analysed for academic research purposes at Cranfield University.

Description of Data Collection
Samples were collected from operational monitoring points associated with the wastewater treatment system using routine wastewater monitoring procedures.

Monitoring data include parameters associated with:

* Organic matter removal
* Suspended solids attenuation
* Nitrogen species
* Phosphorus concentrations
* Alkalinity
* pH
* Long-term treatment performance

Analytical Methods
Water quality analyses were undertaken using standard wastewater analytical procedures and accredited laboratory methods where applicable.

Parameters represented within the dataset may include:

* Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD5)
* Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD)
* Total Suspended Solids (TSS)
* Total Phosphorus (TP)
* Orthophosphate Phosphorus (Ortho-P)
* Total Nitrogen (TN)
* Ammonium Nitrogen (NH4-N)
* Nitrate Nitrogen (NO3-N)
* Alkalinity
* pH

Experimental Conditions
The dataset represents real-world operational monitoring data collected under varying environmental, seasonal, hydraulic, and wastewater loading conditions within a full-scale municipal integrated constructed wetland system.

Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC)

* Sampling and laboratory analyses were undertaken as part of routine wastewater treatment monitoring procedures.
* Analytical QA/QC procedures associated with the original monitoring programme were undertaken by Uisce Éireann and associated laboratories.
* Data cleaning, formatting, and compilation were undertaken prior to academic analysis.
* Missing or unavailable measurements were retained as blank cells where applicable.
* Summary datasets may include aggregated or averaged values derived from operational monitoring records.

SHARING AND ACCESS INFORMATION

License and Restrictions
